Diversion: Leading the Way in Immersion

Diversion bridges the gap between immersive art, its creators, and audiences. Standing at the crossroads of art and technology, we work with festivals, businesses, and cultural institutions, guiding them from concept to execution. Whether it’s curating VR content, managing events, or handling complex installations, we specialize in technical support, immersive scenography, visitor flow management, and ticketing.

Pioneers in Virtual Reality

Founded in 2016, Diversion was born from a desire to make virtual reality accessible to all. Camille, backed by her experience in traditional film distribution, revived her original PickupVRcinema concept. She was soon joined by her brother Marc, an engineer with a passion for film and expertise in cultural mediation. Together, they turned this vision into a family-run entrepreneurial adventure.

From the start, Diversion made a name for itself by launching France’s first VR theater. This was quickly followed by a 30-seat VR theater at the Cannes Film Festival and a 50-seat theater at the Venice Film Festival. These early milestones forged Diversion’s identity as a pioneer in VR and reinforced its commitment to developing virtual reality as a new form of cultural expression.

A Leader in Virtual Reality and Artistic Immersion

At Diversion, we cultivate meaningful connections between immersive art, its creators, and audiences. As experts in virtual reality event management and immersive scenography, we support festivals, businesses, and cultural institutions, helping them bring VR experiences to life, from content curation to on-site installation.

Our expertise spans all facets of immersive event management: from conceptual design and technical implementation to visitor flow management, mediation, and ticketing. We ensure each project is seamless, engaging, and flawlessly executed. To date, Diversion has welcomed over 200,000 visitors and continues to seek new ways to elevate immersive experiences.

A Unique Network and Expertise

As pioneers in immersive content distribution, we established a department dedicated to this field. This has enabled us to build strong partnerships with some of the world’s most prestigious festivals, positioning us as one of their key technical and creative partners. Since 2018, Diversion has expanded into international distribution, forging deep ties within the XR industry and building a network of creators, producers, studios, cultural venues and institutions, multimedia libraries, and businesses using immersive technologies.

An Inclusive and Collaborative Vision

From the very beginning, Camille and Marc had a clear goal: to build a company with people at its core.

“We’ve always prioritized creating a supportive and dynamic environment where our team’s passion for art and technology can thrive.” – Marc

In 2024, Diversion further deepened this collective spirit by transforming into a SCOP (Société coopérative), a cooperative structure that reflects our core values:

  • Democratic management, where every team member has a voice in decision-making
  • Fair recognition, rewarding everyone’s efforts and contributions.

Today, our team of twelve experts with diverse backgrounds is united by shared values: a passion for the immersive, empathy, and a commitment to meaningful social engagement.

A unique network and expertise

Since 2018, Diversion has established itself as a key player in the international distribution of immersive works.
By creating a department dedicated to distribution, we have forged strong links with the world’s biggest festivals, becoming their benchmark technical and artistic partner. Our ambition goes well beyond festivals, by democratising access to VR for everyone, in libraries, cultural institutions and even businesses.
