Summary
ANCESTORS begins with a surprising event - meeting with your digital double. Your virtual representation provides the access point to the artwork. The double reconstruction is a new kind of imaging apparatus serving as a gateway between the physical and virtual dimensions of the installation. The audience is integrated into the experience itself, becoming actors/participants through their virtual surrogates. Our Doubles are searching for someone. Some linger as quiet observers, while others actively reach out in attempts to connect. Short stories of relationships unfold from their random encounters, producing Descendants, unique new beings, carrying fragments of both parents into the next generation. Strange moments of intimacy arise among the audience, when the Doubles link strangers as kin.
