Carbon Black

Summary

A fragile pillar of the global climate, the Greenland ice sheet is darkening under the effects of pollution, accelerating ice melt and sea-level rise. To study the impact of carbon black, adventurer Matthieu Tordeur and glaciologist Heïdi Sevestre cross 1,500 km by kite-ski, collecting snow and data. The samples are analyzed in the laboratory by scientist Ulyana Nadia Horodyskyj, paving the way for more responsible, low-carbon polar science.
