Summary
A little brother asks his big sister how she managed to stop being afraid of the dark. She draws him into a succession of dreamlike tableaus where everything comes alive and through which the little brother learns to confront his own fears. In the Land of the Flabby Schnook is a contemplative film in which the viewer discovers a magical place through the eyes of the protagonists. Production : couleur.tv

Francis Gélinas
Director
Francis Gélinas is a graduate of the N.A.D. Center in video game design, of Cégep de Maisonneuve in Multimedia Integration Techniques, and of Concordia University in Fine Arts with a major in animation cinema.
He has been working in the field of animation and film for over 15 years. Starting out as an animator, then as an art director and director at Moment Factory, he simultaneously founded his own company (couleur.tv) in 2006.
He explores animation in all its forms: stop motion, 2D animation, 3D, and stage projections. He has directed animated web series, projection shows in amusement parks, and has worked on hundreds of commercial projects for clients such as: Igloofest, Radio-Canada, Télé-Québec, Coca-Cola, the NFB, Felix & Paul Studios, Moment Factory, Ubisoft, Sid Lee, 4U2C, to name just a few.
His first personal film (The Story of the Evil Dragon) toured festivals around the world and won the Audience Award at the Fantasia Festival. His second personal film, a stereoscopic virtual reality experience, has won several awards in both headset and dome formats.
