The Art of Change

Summary

The Art of Change is a deeply personal audio-visual journey that traverses time and space. Using a “feedback loop” of recorded voice memos addressed to past and future selves, it maps pivotal moments on a multi-sensory life map. The project interweaves tape-recorded messages from various life stages within the music, narrating a woman’s story as she communicates with herself across time. The journey unfolds through past, present, and future, depicting archetypal experiences familiar to many: the majestic solitude of a large tree in the wilderness, the challenge of an insurmountable mountain peak, the mundanity of an ordinary office building, and the yearning to escape, along with more abstract, imaginary places. The Art of Change reflects on life’s steps and their echo across time and space. Entirely painted and animated in VR using Quill, it offers a pioneering musical journey. Through virtual space, seamless transitions, and increasingly complex environments, this immersive project redefines how we appreciate music.
