Integrating virtual reality into music festivals
Diversion marked a key milestone in 2024 by taking part in the prestigious Sónar festival, one of Europe’s biggest events dedicated to electronic music and technological innovation. Invited by Fabbula and Octobre Numérique – Faire Monde, we contributed our technical expertise to the Realities+D programme, and more specifically to the Permacomputing Playgrounds space, which explores the interactions between innovation, leisure and the non-human.
Installation and technical management of VR stations at the Sónar 2024 Festival
As technical service providers, we carried out several tasks:
- Installing the VR works: Setting up six VR stations to display 3 works and a remote control system to facilitate mediation.
- Mediator training: Support for local teams to ensure smooth, visitor-friendly mediation.
- On-site technical assistance: Management and rapid resolution of unforeseen technical problems throughout the event.
